Photo Journalism
  • Leading to Specialisation in Photojournalism, Sport, Photo Documentary.

    Students will be introduced to contemporary practices of photo journalism and explore aesthetic, technical, cultural and historical forces that have shaped its evolution as a form of visual communications. students will learn how real photojournalists work, and will be expected to work similarly. selected weekly assignments will be set up in which they must produce good story telling images. Students will learn to develop a story idea , cover events and produce images like professional. The course will be conducted similarly to the real working world of professional photojournalism. Student will be responsible for taking pictures with their own cameras and producing their digital images. Editing photography and scanning and preparations of images will be expected, through the emphasis of the course will be on picture taking not picture developing.

    Job opportunities span careers in various aspects of the newspaper industry, magazines and journals. Entry level positions begin from photographer and can lead up to photo editor or director of the photo department. Freelance assignments for international magazines and agencies is common as well, and with multimedia training documentary work for events like film festivals is yet another option.
